He will lead a discussio
n on how the UVM Libraries will be instituting a pilot program whereby our existing Order on Demand system will be enhanced by records for e-books whenever they are available. Starting soon, and running as a Pilot until June 30, 2011, we will load MARC records into Voyager for e-books from the three publishers we currently provide Order on Demand services for, whenever e-books exist. Publishers have dragged their feet in providing electronic versions of their books at the same time they release the print editions, but that lag time is growing shorter.Come hear how the Libraries will be integrating records for e-books with records for print books, whichever edition is available upon publication. Included in the presentation will be a brief overview of the trends of e-book acquisition and use in academic libraries.
